Our Journey Through Time: A Legacy of Service
At Clients First Insurance Group, our history is a testament to our commitment to our clients and community. Our story began in 1946 and continues to evolve, reflecting our dedication to growth and service. Explore our journey and see how we’ve become a trusted name in Texas.
1946 – The Beginning: Bill Farmer and Joe Harper establish Harper and Farmer Insurance Company in Gilmer, TX, marking the start of a long-standing legacy.
1954 – New Partnerships: J.H. Stropp joins the agency, transforming it into the Farmer-Stropp Insurance Agency and relocating to a new building.
1959 – Family Ties: Tom Davis, Stropp’s nephew, becomes a partner, later renaming it East Texas Insurance Agency after his uncle’s passing.
2010 – New Era: First National Bank of Gilmer acquires the agency, and Joe Dodd is appointed President, paving the way for new growth.
2013 – Expansion: Acquisition of Hogue Insurance Agency in Quitman expands our reach and service capabilities.
2017 – Clients First: Joe Dodd purchases the client base, establishing Clients First Insurance Group, reinforcing our client-focused mission.
